Adjusting A/C Drive Belt

NOTE: Letters in parenthesis refer to letters in figures.
  1. Remove the engine cover.
  2. Loosen idle pulley lock nut (A). See Fig 1 .
  3. Adjust the drive belt deflection or tension by turning adjusting bolt (B) to the specification. See BELT DEFLECTION SPECIFICATIONS  or BELT TENSION SPECIFICATION  table. See Figure .
  4. Tighten idle pulley lock nut (A) to the specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Crank the engine and measure the deflection and tension again. If not within the specification, repeat from step  2 again. Install the engine cover.
