Front Seat: Installation

  1. Position front seat in vehicle and install front seat front track bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Move front seat to forward position. Install front seat rear seat track bolts. On models with power seats, disconnect negative battery cable. Reconnect power seat electrical connector.
  2. On models equipped with side air bags, remove side air bag simulator and reconnect connectors. On all models, remove pretensioner simulator and reconnect connectors. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable devices, verify system. See VERIFY SYSTEM  under DIAGNOSTICS.
  3. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
