Timing Belt Auto TENSIONER Installation Note

- Measure the tensioner rod projection length. Replace the auto tensioner if necessary.
Projection (Free Length)
Type A: 14.3-15.1 mm {0.563-0.594 in}
- Type B: 12.0-13.0 mm {0.473-0.511 in}
- Inspect the auto tensioner for oil leakage. Replace the auto tensioner as if necessary.CAUTION:
- Applying pressure of more than 9.8 kN {1,000 kgf, 2,200 lbf} can damage the auto tensioner.
- Slowly press in the tensioner rod using a press.
- Insert a pin into the hole in the body as shown, to hold the tensioner rod.
