Timing Belt Removal/Installation: Notes

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the crankshaft position sensor.
- Remove the P/S oil pump with the pipe still connected.
- Remove the spark plugs.
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Verify the air gap. (See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
.)
Specification:
0.5-1.5mm (0.020-0.059 in)
- Start the engine and
- Inspect the pulleys and drive belt for runout and contact.
- Verify the ignition timing. See IGNITION TIMING INSPECTION .
