DTC 22: Fuel Level Signal
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit connector. Select DTC 22. If LCD indicates 252-255, go to next step. If LCD indicates other than 252-255, replace instrument cluster.
- Using a jumper wire, connect instrument cluster connector No. 3, terminal 3C to ground. See Figure . If LCD indicates 000-003, go to next step. If LCD indicates other than 000-003, replace instrument cluster.
- Connect SST (fuel and thermometer checker) or 20-ohm resistor between instrument cluster connector No. 3, terminal 3C and ground. See Figure . If LCD indicates 023-043, go to next step. If LCD indicates other than 023-043, replace instrument cluster.
- Connect SST (fuel and thermometer checker) or 60-ohm resistor between instrument cluster connector No. 3, terminal 3C and ground. See Figure . If LCD indicates 064-112, go to next step. If LCD indicates other than 064-112, replace instrument cluster.
- Connect SST (fuel and thermometer checker) or 100-ohm resistor between instrument cluster connector No. 3, terminal 3C and ground. See Figure . If LCD indicates 097-165, check fuel gauge sending unit. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT under COMPONENT TESTS. If LCD indicates other than 097-165, replace instrument cluster.
