Test No. 11: Oil Pressure Warning Light Does Not Illuminate With Key On

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for continuity between ground and instrument cluster harness connector No. 3, terminal 3H. See Figure . If continuity does not exist, go to step  3 . If continuity exists, go to next step.
  2. Remove oil pressure warning light bulb. Inspect bulb. If bulb is okay, replace printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If bulb is bad, replace bulb.
  3. Disconnect oil pressure switch connector. Check continuity between ground and oil pressure switch terminal. If continuity exists, repair wiring between instrument cluster and oil pressure switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity does not exist, replace oil pressure switch.
