Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Test

CAUTION: Relieve fuel pressure before servicing fuel system. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.

Remove fuel gauge sending unit. See Figure . Connect ohmmeter between fuel gauge sending unit connector terminals "A" and "D".
Measure resistance with fuel gauge sending unit float in specified position. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCE table. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
