Removal & Installation (Miata)

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the dynamic chamber. See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the illustration. See Fig 1.
  5. NOTE: Use NEW fuel injector rings.
  6. To install injectors, perform the following procedures:
    1. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the "O" rings and install them into the fuel distributor.
    2. Verify that the "O" rings and the fuel injector sealing surfaces are free of foreign material and clean with gasoline if necessary.
    3. Install the fuel injectors in the fuel distributor with light twisting motion so that the "O" rings will not be folded. See Fig 2.
