Removal & Installation (Mazda6 3.0L & MPV)

  1. Relieve system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the dynamic chamber. See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
  4. Disconnect the fuel injector harness connectors and remove the harness from the fuel distributor.
  5. CAUTION: Disconnecting/connecting the quick release connector without cleaning it may possibly cause damage to the fuel pipe and quick release connector. DISCONNECT  under FUEL LINE CONNECTORS (MAZDA6, MPV, PROTEGE & PROTEGE5). Always clean the quick release connector joint area before disconnecting/connecting using a cloth or soft brush, and make sure that it is free of foreign material.
  6. Remove in the order indicated in the illustration. See Fig 1.
  7. To install, reverse removal procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
