Removal (Tribute 3.0L)

NOTE: Numbers in parenthesis refer to numbers in illustrations.
  1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE .
  2. Remove the 3 nuts and the engine appearance cover. See Figure.
  3. Disconnect the throttle cable (1). See Fig 1.
  4. Disconnect the cruise control cable, if equipped (2). See Fig 1.
  5. Remove the throttle cable bracket bolts (3). See Fig 1.
  6. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) harness connectors. See Fig 2.
  7. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum hose and EGR tube nut. See Fig 3.
  8. Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator valve harness connector and vacuum hose. See Fig 4.
  9. Disconnect the chassis vacuum hose (1). See Fig 5.
  10. Disconnect the engine vacuum hose (2). See Fig 5.
  11. Disconnect the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose (3). See Fig 5.
  12. Disconnect the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) vacuum hose. See Fig 6.
  13. Disconnect the 2 harness connectors attached to the left side of the upper intake manifold. See Fig 7.
  14. Disconnect the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) sensor harness connector. See Fig 8.
  15. Position the transaxle vent hose aside.
  16. Remove the nut from the wire harness. See Fig 9.
  17. Remove the 8 bolts and the upper intake manifold. See Fig 10.
