Removal & Installation (B3000)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mazda Tribute, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2003 Mazda Protege, 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2003 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the breather tube and the air inlet tube. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove the bolt and the splash shield. See Fig 2.
  4. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor harness connector. See Fig 3.
  5. Disconnect the accelerator cable, cruise control actuator cable and return spring. See Fig 4.
  6. Remove the bolts and the throttle body. See Fig 5.
  7. Remove throttle body gasket (if necessary).
  8. Remove TP sensor (if necessary). See THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR  under ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES.
  9. To install, reverse removal procedure.
