Installation (B2300)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mazda Tribute, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2003 Mazda Protege, 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2003 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Inspect and install new intake manifold gaskets, if necessary. See Fig 1.
  2. Install the intake manifold and the 5 mounting bolts. See Figure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the fuel manifold vacuum hose. See Figure.
  4. Connect the wiring push-pin to the bottom of the intake manifold.
  5. Connect the engine knock sensor harness connector to the intake manifold and connect the harness connector. See Figure.
  6. Attach the 42-pin harness connector to the bracket and connect the intake vacuum hose. See Figure.
  7. Install the EGR flange mounting bolts. See Figure.
  8. Connect the fuel line into the clip. See Figure.
  9. Connect the swirl control valve harness connector. See Figure.
  10. Connect the swirl control valve monitor harness connector. See Figure.
  11. Install the EGR tube bracket bolt. See Figure.
  12. Position engine wiring harness and connect the push-pin. See Figure.
  13. Connect the engine vacuum harness, brake booster hose and crankcase breather hose. See Figure.
  14. Connect the vacuum hose and the IAC valve harness connector. See Figure
  15. Connect the MAP sensor harness connector. See Figure.
  16. Connect the TP sensor. See Figure.
  17. Connect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) into the mounting bracket.
  18. Connect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) onto the throttle linkage.
  19. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
  20. Install the accelerator control splash shield. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
