Single Speed Motor - Miata, Protege & Protege5

- Ensure battery is fully charged. Disconnect cooling fan motor 2-pin harness connector. Connect ammeter between positive battery terminal and positive terminal of cooling fan motor connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Ground negative cooling fan terminal. See appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM in ELECTRIC COOLING FANS article in ENGINE COOLING.
- Ensure cooling fan motor operates smoothly at specified standard current draw. See COOLING FAN MOTOR CURRENT DRAW SPECIFICATIONS table. If cooling fan motor current draw is not as specified, replace cooling fan motor.
