Resistance Inspection (MPV, Protege & Protege5)

Disconnect TP sensor connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between TP sensor terminals "A" and "C". See Fig 1. If resistance reading is not as specified, replace TP sensor. See TP SENSOR RESISTANCE (MPV, PROTEGE & PROTEGE5)  table.

TP SENSOR RESISTANCE (MPV, PROTEGE & PROTEGE5)

Test Condition (1) (2) Ohms
MPV 3200-4800
Protege & Protege5 4000-6000
(1) With throttle closed.
(2) Between terminals "A" and "C". See Fig 1.
