Variable Air Duct (VAD) Shutter Valve Inspection - Mazda6

Remove air cleaner case. Disconnect vacuum hose from VAD shutter valve actuator. Connect vacuum pump to VAD shutter valve actuator. See Fig 1. Apply vacuum and verify rod moves. See VAD SHUTTER VALVE ACTUATOR SPECIFICATIONS table. If rod does not move as specified, replace air cleaner. See Fig 2.
