After Repair Procedure

WARNING: Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. When installing fuel hose, observe "Fuel Leakage Inspection" described below. Always carry out following procedure with engine stopped.
CAUTION: Connecting wrong DLC-1 or check connector terminal may possibly cause a malfunction. Carefully connect specified terminal only. On Mazda6, locate check connector in underhood main fuse block. Connect fused jumper wire between check connector FP terminal and body ground. On all models except Mazda6, connect fused jumper wire between DLC-1 F/P terminal and body GND. See Figure or Figure .

Fuel Leakage Inspection

  1. Turn ignition on to operate fuel pump.
  2. Pressurize fuel system this way for at least 5 minutes to be sure of no leakage.
  3. If there is fuel leakage, inspect fuel hoses, hose clamps, and fuel pipe sealing surface and replace if necessary.
  4. After repair, reassemble fuel system and repeat steps  1- 3 .
