Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION System

The EGR system allows controlled amounts of exhaust gas into the intake manifold to reduce oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and improve fuel economy.
The EGR system on the B2300, B3000 and B4000 pickup and Tribute consists of a control valve, Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFEGR) sensor, EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid (EGR-VRS), connecting hoses and pipes.
The EGR system on the Mazda6, Miata, MPV, Protege and Protege5 consists of an electronically operated EGR valve, boost sensor and boost sensor solenoid valve. The EGR valve has 4 coils that may be operated individually by the PCM as needed.
