Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) Sensor - B2300 & Tribute 2.0L

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mazda Tribute, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2003 Mazda Protege, 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2003 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

All models except the B2300 pickup and Tribute 2.0L, use an Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR .

The CHT sensor is a thermistor device which changes resistance proportionate to temperature changes. The CHT sensor inputs metal temperature of the cylinder head to the PCM. For CHT sensor location, see CHT & ECT SENSOR LOCATIONS  table.
