Intake Manifold Communication Control (MPV)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mazda Tribute, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2003 Mazda Protege, 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2003 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Intake Manifold Communication Control (IMCC) actuator in the intake manifold controls the length of intake air path, depending upon engine RPM. With engine speed less than 3750 RPM, the IMCC actuator is energized, improving torque output. At more than 3750 RPM, the IMCC actuator is de-energized, increasing airflow while improving high RPM performance. The PCM monitors the IMCC actuator at all times.
