WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Mazda RX-8, 2007 Mazda RX-8, 2006 Mazda RX-8, 2005 Mazda RX-8, and 2004 Mazda RX-8. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- The low one-way clutch outer race (front planetary carrier) rotates clockwise (seen from the torque converter side) freely, but the sprags rise to lock the rotation when the outer race tries to rotate counter clockwise.
- The low one-way clutch locks the counter clockwise rotation of the front planetary carrier, and also locks the counterclockwise revolution of the rear planetary carrier via the low clutch.NOTE:
- All rotation directions are as viewed from the torque converter.
