Carrier Component PREINSPECTION: Notes

- Remove the front carrier.
- Remove the rear sun gear.
- Remove the rear carrier.
- Remove the internal gear.
- Install the low clutch drum to the transmission case correctly.WARNING:
- Using compressed air can cause dirt and other particles to fly out, causing injury to the eyes. Wear protective eye wear whenever using compressed air.
CAUTION:- Applying compressed air to the assembled clutch pack for more than 3 s at a time will damage the seal.
- Do not apply compressed air for more than the aforementioned time when testing the system.
- Apply compressed air to the part indicated in the figure and inspect the low clutch operation.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the seal rings.
Air pressure
390 kPa {4.0 kgf/cm 2 , 57 psi} max.
- Measure the clearance between the retaining plate and the snap ring.
- If the clearance is not within the specification, adjust the clearance by installing the correct retaining plate.
