Solenoid Valves Removal/Installation

- Clean the transmission exterior thoroughly with a steam cleaner or cleaning solvents.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
- Remove the oil pan and gasket.CAUTION:
- To prevent deformation of the tube, remove the tube by pulling both ends up.
- Remove the tubes.
- Disconnect the shift solenoids A, B and torque converter clutch solenoid valve connectors.
- Remove the solenoid valve.
- Apply ATF to a new O-ring.
- Install the O-ring to the torque converter clutch solenoid valve.
- Install a new gasket and solenoid valve to the control valve body.
Tightening torque
- A: 7.9-11.7 N.m {80-120 kgf.cm, 70-104 in.lbf}
- B: 5.0-5.8 N.m {50-60 kgf.cm, 44-52 in.lbf}
- Connect shift solenoids A, B, and torque converter clutch solenoid valve connectors.
- Install the tubes.
- Install the new gasket and oil pan.
Tightening torque
- 4.0-4.9 N.m {40-50 kgf.cm, 35-43 in.lbf}
- Add ATF to the specified level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
- Carry out mechanical test. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST .)
- Carry out road test. (See ROAD TEST .)
