Output Speed Sensor Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Mazda MX-5 Miata. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Disconnect the output speed sensor connector.
- Remove the output speed sensor.NOTE:
- Resistance value of the output speed sensor varies with temperature. Normal resistance value occurs when the temperature is 20°C {68°F} , but it may be abnormal at high temperatures. Therefore, do not determine the resistance value only at 20°C {68°F}.
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the output speed sensor.
- If not correct, replace the output speed sensor.
Resistance
- 387-473 ohms (20°C {68°F})
- Install the output speed sensor.
Tightening torque
- 5.0-6.8 N.m {50-70 kgf.cm, 44-60 in.lbf}
- Connect the output speed sensor connector.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
