Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Mazda MX-5 Miata. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove the bracket and front pipe. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP] .)
- Disconnect the input/turbine speed sensor connector.NOTE:
- Resistance value of the input/turbine speed sensor varies with temperature. Normal resistance value occurs when the temperature is 20°C {68°F} , but it may be abnormal at high temperatures. Therefore, do not determine the resistance value only at 20°C {68°F}.
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the input/turbine speed sensor.
- If not correct, replace the input/turbine speed sensor.
Resistance
- 560-680 ohms (20°C {68° F})
- Connect the input/turbine speed sensor connector.
- Install the front pipe and bracket. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [BP] .)
- Connect the negative battery cable.
