No. 20 Noise At Idle When Vehicle Is Stopped In D, 2, 1 Ranges Or In R Position

NOISE AT IDLE WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED IN D, 2, 1 RANGES OR IN R POSITION - DESCRIPTION & POSSIBLE CAUSE

20 Noise at idle when vehicle is stopped in D, 2,1 ranges or in R position
DESCRIPTION 
  • Transmission is noisy in driving ranges when vehicle is idling.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  1. Although the malfunction is basically the same as No. 19 "NOISE AT IDLE WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED IN ALL POSITIONS/RANGES", other causes may be selector lever position disparity or transmission range switch position disparity.
    NOTE:
    • Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the on-board diagnosis and basic inspection have been conducted.
NOTE:
  • If the malfunction remains, inspect related Service Bulletins and/or On-line Repair Information and perform repair or diagnosis.
    • If vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting completed.
    • If vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace TCM.
