23 Noise occurs at idle when vehicle is stopped in D range, or in R position
DESCRIPTION

POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • Malfunctions unrelated to AT:
    • Abnormal noise from differential
    • Abnormal noise from propeller shaft
    • Vibration caused by unbalanced or uneven tires
    NOTE:
    • Although the malfunction is basically the same as No.22 "NOISE OCCURS AT IDLE WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED IN ALL POSITIONS/RANGES", other causes may be selector lever position disparity or TR switch position disparity.
    • Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic Transmission On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transmission Basic Inspection are conducted. (See BASIC INSPECTION .)
