NOISE OCCURS AT IDLE WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED IN ALL POSITIONS/RANGES DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Noise occurs at idle when vehicle is stopped in all positions/ranges |
| DESCRIPTION |
- Transmission is noisy in all positions and ranges when vehicle is idling.

| POSSIBLE CAUSE |
- High-pitched noise emitted from AT at idle may be caused by pressure control solenoid or oil pump.
- There may also be engine noise (idle speed mis adjustment and/or V belt noise)
NOTE:
- If a noise is emitted during shifting only, the malfunction is in solenoid. If a noise is emitted during shifting at certain gears only or during deceleration only, it is gear noise.
- Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic Transmission On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transmission Basic Inspection are conducted. (See
