DTC 11 & 12: SAS Connector Terminal "U" Grounded

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Access SAS control unit and check connector for secure connection. See SAS CONTROL UNIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect clockspring connector at steering column base. See Figure. Remove glove box. Disconnect passenger-side air bag module connector and go to next step. See Figure.
- Disconnect SAS control unit connector and check connector terminal "U" (Black wire) for short to power or open circuit. If Black wire is not okay, replace air bag wiring harness and go to next step. If Black wire is okay, replace SAS control unit and go to next step.
- Reinstall all components and reconnect all connectors. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
