DTC 1: SAS Control Unit Poor Connection

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Access SAS control unit and check connector for secure connection. See SAS CONTROL UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If SAS control unit connector is secure, go to next step. If SAS control unit connector is not secure, remove and properly reconnect and go to step  3.
  2. Disconnect SAS control unit connector. Inspect SAS control unit connector for dirt, corrosion, bent or damaged terminals. If SAS control unit connector is okay, replace SAS control unit. If SAS control unit connector is damaged, replace air bag system instrument panel wire harness and go to next step.
  3. Reinstall all components and reconnect all connectors. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
