For Steel Propeller Shaft

Use a dial gauge to measure the runout of the propeller shaft at each position.
- If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the propeller shaft.
Maximum runout
1. 0.4 mm {0.016 in}

Inspect the play and rotation of the joint by turning the universal joint in the direction shown by the arrow.
Initial torque (Reference value)
1. 0.29-0.98 N.m
  1. {3.0-10 kgf.cm, 2.7-8.6 in.lbf}
- If there is excessive play or initial torque, replace the propeller shaft.
