Engine Tune-up Preparation

  1. Verify the following:
    • AT: Selector lever is in P or N position.
    • MT: Shift lever is in neutral position.
  2. Turn off all electrical loads (A/C).
  3. Warm up the engine.
    1. Increase the engine speed to 2,500-3,000 RPM  until cooling fans start running.
    2. When the cooling fans start running, release the accelerator pedal and wait until the cooling fans stop running.
  4. Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
  5. Verify that the idling speed (WDS: RPM PID) is within the specification using the WDS or equivalent function.

    Standard 

    1. AT: 760-860 RPM 
    2. MT: 750-850 RPM
