Seat Belt Inspection: ELR

  1. Verify that the belt can be pulled out smoothly, and that it moves smoothly when wound.
    • If not as specified, replace the seat belt.
  2. Verify that the retractor locks when the belt is quickly pulled.
    • If not as specified, replace the seat belt.

  4. Remove the retractor. (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] , FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) (See SECOND-ROW SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See THIRD-ROW SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Make sure that the seat belt does not lock when the retractor is tilted slowly up to 15°  from the mounted position and locks when the retractor is tilted 40° or more  .
    • If not as specified, replace the seat belt.
