DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE - DTC B2290

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR WARNING: Handling the air bag system components improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag modules and pre-tensioner seat belts, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag system components. (See SERVICE WARNINGS .) (See SERVICE CAUTIONS .) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more . Disconnect the seat weight sensor control module connector. Is there any malfunction of the seat weight sensor control module connector?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness. After replacement, reperform the DTC inspection and verify that no DTCs are displayed.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECTION WIRING HARNESS Disconnect the SAS control module connector. Verify continuity in the following wiring harnesses: Between SAS control module terminal 1l and seat weight sensor control module terminal 3D Between the battery and seat weight sensor control module terminal 3A Between seat weight sensor control module terminal 3B and body ground Is the continuity normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	If there is any malfunction in the wiring harnesses, repair or replace the applicable wiring harness. After replacement, reperform the DTC inspection and verify that no DTCs are displayed.
3	INSPECT PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM Connect the seat weight sensor control module connector. Connect the SAS control module. Connect the negative battery cable. Verify the following PIDs using the WDS or equivalent. (See PID/DATA MONITOR DISPLAY [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) OCS_FLT Is NO_Fail displayed?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Replace the following parts according to the WDS or equivalent screen: If MOD_Fail or COMM_Fail is displayed: Seat weight sensor control module (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CALIBRATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) If SNS_Fail_L is displayed: Seat weight sensor (LH) (See: FRONT SEAT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .) If SNS_Fail_R is displayed: Seat weight sensor (RH) (See FRONT SEAT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .) If SNS_Fail is displayed: Seat weight sensor (See FRONT SEAT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .) If CAL_Fail is displayed: Perform seat weight sensor calibration (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CALIBRATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
4	INSPECT SAS CONTROL MODULE Reperform the DTC inspection. Is DTC B2290 indicated?	Yes	Replace the SAS control module. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
4		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
