Using screwdriver

- Remove any rust or grime on the contact face of the drum brake.
- Install the brake drum and align the marks made before removal.
- After installation the brake drum, adjust the brake shoe clearance as described below.
- Insert a screwdriver into the adjustment hole and turn the adjuster in the direction of the arrow until the brake drum locks.
- Insert two screwdrivers into the adjustment hole, and use one of them to disconnect the adjusting lever from the adjuster (arrow A and B).
- Use the other screwdriver to turn the adjuster 8 to 10 notches in the direction of the arrow (C).
- Verify that the brakes do not drag when turning the brake drum by hand.
