Shift Cable: Removal

  1. Remove the battery, battery tray, and battery tray bracket. See Figure . Remove the air cleaner assembly. See Figure . Place gearshift in Park position. Remove the spring and disconnect the shift cable. See Figure and Figure .
  2. Remove steering column covers. See Figure . Remove shift cable nut from gearshift lever. See Figure . Remove bolts at firewall and remove shift cable.
