Transaxle Overheats
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Malfunction is restricted to restriction of coolant at oil cooler. In addition, overheating of transaxle may be caused by a faulty TFT sensor, line pressure low, ATF level low, incorrect TP sensor signal, misadjustment of throttle cable, oil cooler fault (foreign material mixed in with ATF), excessive amount of ATF.
