No Shift To 5th Gear

TCC does not operate when fail-safe is operating. Check if any DTCs are present. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM . If TCC operates when driving at high speeds only, fault (improper adjustment) is in the O/D OFF switch circuit or TR switch circuit. Possible cause: TCC piston slipped or burned, line pressure low, incorrect throttle position signal, faulty ECT sensor, faulty VSS, faulty input/turbine speed sensor, faulty sensor ground, faulty TFT sensor short or open circuit in wiring, poor electrical connection, faulty sensor, faulty TR switch, gearshift lever adjustment, incorrect TR switch adjustment, faulty TCC solenoid valve, short or open circuit in wiring, poor electrical connection, solenoid valve stuck, faulty O/D OFF switch, faulty torque converter, faulty control valve body.
