Cooling Fan Motor Inspection

  1. Verify that the battery is fully charged. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Disconnect the fan control module connector (2 terminals).
  3. Connect battery voltage and an ammeter to the fan control module connector on fan motor side (2 terminals).
  4. Perform the same procedure as Step  2 for the condenser fan motor.

  5. Verify that the cooling fan motor operates smoothly at the standard current draw.
    • If not as specified, replace the cooling fan motor.

    Standard current 

    1. Type A (Without sub-harness): 25.5-28.5 (A) [12 V] 
    2. Type B (With sub-harness): 15.5-18.5 (A) [12 V]
