"S", L" & "P" Position Tests

- Shift gearshift lever to "S" position. Accelerate vehicle at half throttle and WOT. Ensure upshifts and downshifts are obtained at shift points indicated. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . Drive vehicle in 3rd and 2nd gears to verify kickdown occurs at shift points indicated.
- Decelerate vehicle and verify engine braking effect is felt in 3rd gear. Drive vehicle to verify TCC operation is obtained at operation points indicated. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . Select HOLD mode. Accelerate vehicle to half and WOT, and verify 2nd gear is held. Shift points must be as indicated.
- Shift gearshift lever to "L" position. Accelerate vehicle at half and WOT. Ensure upshifts and downshifts are obtained at shift points indicated. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . Drive vehicle in 2nd gear to verify kickdown occurs at shift points indicated.
- Decelerate vehicle and verify engine braking effect is felt in 2nd gear. Drive vehicle to verify TCC operation is obtained at operation points indicated. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . Select HOLD mode. Accelerate vehicle to half and WOT, and verify 1st gear is held. Shift points must be as indicated. Decelerate vehicle to verify engine braking effect is felt.
- Shift into "P" position on a gentle slope. Release brake. Ensure vehicle does not roll.
