Transaxle Range Switch

PCM monitors a series of step-down resistors in the Transaxle Range (TR) switch. These step-down resistors act as a voltage divider. The voltage signal corresponds with position of TR switch as controlled by gearshift lever. The TR switch also contains the neutral/start and back-up light circuits. Malfunction of the TR switch may cause harsh engagements, firm shift feel, improper shifting or shift selection and no engine cranking.
