Does Not Turn On

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda 626 and 2001 Mazda 626. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Perform KOER self-test. If DTC 1780 is not present, go to next step. If DTC 1780 is present, see DTC P1780: O/D OFF SWITCH MALFUNCTION  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
  2. Install breakout box. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between breakout box test pin No. 79 (O/D OFF circuit) and test pins No. 24 and 76 (PWR GND circuit). If voltage is 2 volts or more, replace PCM. If voltage is less than 2 volts, check indicator bulb and fuse. If bulb and fuse are okay, repair open circuit between test pin No. 79 and ignition switch.
