- Turn ignition on. Cycle O/D OFF switch. If O/D OFF indicator light does not cycle on and off, go to next step. If O/D OFF indicator light cycles on and off, fault may be intermittent. Connect scan tool to DLC. Access O/D OFF switch PID. Perform wiggle test of O/D OFF switch circuit harness and connectors while observing scan tool. If O/D OFF switch PID changes abruptly, inspect and repair circuits or replace components as needed.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect 104-pin PCM harness connector. Inspect pins for damage and repair if necessary. Turn ignition on. If O/D OFF indicator light turns off, replace PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If O/D OFF indicator light remains on, repair O/D OFF light circuit for short to ground.
