Low-Reverse Brake Preinspection Clutch Operation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2005 Mazda 6, 2005 Mazda 3, 2004 Mazda 6, 2004 Mazda 3, and 2003 Mazda Protege5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Applying compressed air to the assembled clutch pack for more than 3 seconds at a time will damage the seal. Do NOT apply compressed air for more than 3 seconds when testing the system.

Inspect the clutch operation by applying 57 psi (4.0 kg/cm2 ) of compress air to the low and reverse brake fluid passage. If clutch does not operate properly, proceed with disassembly and inspection. See DISASSEMBLY & INSPECTION .
