Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF) Replacement

WARNING:
- A hot transaxle and ATF can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before replacing the ATF.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the oil dipstick.
- Remove the air cleaner component. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the oil filler plug and O-ring.
- Remove the under cover.
- Remove the oil drain plug and gasket.
- Drain the ATF into a container.
- Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
Tightening torque
23.5-54.9 N.m {2.4-5.5 kgf.m, 17.4-40.4 ft.lbf}
- Add the specified ATF through the oil filler plug until it reaches the lower notch of dipstick.

Type: ATF T-IV
Capacity (Approx. quantity): 7.0 L {7.4 US qt, 6.2 Imp qt}
- Install a new O-ring and the filler plug.
Tightening torque
23.5-54.9 N.m {2.4-5.5 kgf.m, 17.4-40.4 ft.lbf}
- Install the under cover.
- Install the air cleaner component. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Ensure that the ATF level is in the HOT range (65 °C {149 °F}).
- Add ATF to the specified level as necessary.
