Basic Inspection

BASIC INSPECTION

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1
  • Measure the battery voltage.
  • Is the battery voltage 10.0-14.0 V? 
Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace or recharge the battery.
(See BATTERY RECHARGING .)

  • Inspect the TCM related harnesses, connectors and fuses.
  • Are they normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

  • Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  • Retrieve DTC using the WDS or equivalent.
  • Is there any DTC present?
Yes Record Freeze Frame Data and perform appropriate DTC troubleshooting procedures.
No Go to the next step.

  • Perform the road test.
  • Is the ATX operating normally?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

  • Perform the time lag test.
  • Is the ATX operating normally?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

  • Perform the stall test.
  • Is the stall speed within the specified?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

  • Perform the line pressure test.
  • Is the line pressure within the specified?
Yes Perform the symptom troubleshooting and follow the procedures.
No Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

  • Inspect following part or signal related PIDs using the WDS or equivalent.
    • TP sensor
    • TSS
    • VSS
    • TFT sensor
    • TR switch
    • M range switch
    • Up switch
    • Down switch
    • Brake switch
    • Engine speed
  • Are they normal?
Yes Perform the symptom troubleshooting and follow the procedures.
No Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.
