Diagnostic procedure

DTC P0882 [AW6A-EL] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED 
  • Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2 VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY 
  • Verify related Service Bulletins and or/on-line repair information availability.
  • Is any related repair information available?
Yes Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
  • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
3 INSPECT FUSE 
  • Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  • Inspect METER IG 15 A fuse and TCM 10 A fuse for malfunction.
  • Is it normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No
  • If fuse has been melted, go to the next step.
  • If fuse is not installed correctly, install it correctly, then go to Step 13.
4 INSPECT VOLTAGE OF POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 
  • Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine off).
  • Inspect for voltage TCM short cord connector terminal A and B (wiring harness-side).
  • Is the voltage B+  ?
Yes Go to go to Step 8.
No Go to the next step.
5 INSPECT TERMINAL TCM SHORT CORD CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION 
  • Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  • Disconnect the TCM short cord connector.
  • Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
  • Are terminals normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace the couple component, then go to Step 13.
6 INSPECT POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
  • Disconnect the positive battery cable.
  • Inspect for continuity between the fuse terminals and body ground.
    • ROOM 15 A fuse terminal and body ground
    • TCM 10 A fuse terminal and body ground
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Repair or replace the wiring harness and install new fuse, then go to Step 13.
No Go to the next step.
7 INSPECT POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Inspect for continuity between TCM short cord connector terminals and fuse terminals (wiring harness-side).
    • Terminal A and TCM 10 A fuse
    • Terminal B and METER IG 15 A fuse
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to Step 11.
No Repair or replace the harness, then go to Step 13.
8 INSPECT TCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION 
  • Disconnect the TCM connector.
  • Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
  • Are terminals normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace the couple component, then go to Step 13.
9 INSPECT TCM SHORT CORD CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Inspect for continuity between TCM short cord connector terminals and TCM terminals (wiring harness-side).
    • Terminal A and terminal A1
    • Terminal B and terminal A11
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the harness, then go to Step 13.
10 INSPECT TCM SHORT CORD CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
  • Inspect for continuity between TCM short cord connector terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
    • Terminal A and body ground
    • Terminal B and body ground
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Repair or replace the harness, then go to Step 13.
No Go to the next step.
11 INSPECT GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Inspect for continuity between TCM short cord connector terminal J (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the harness, then go to Step 13.
12 INSPECT TCM SHORT CORD CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Inspect for continuity between TCM short cord connector terminal J and TCM terminal A9 (wiring harness-side).
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the harness, then go to the next step.
13 VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0882 COMPLETED 
  • Make sure to reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
  • Clear the DTC from the memory using the WDS or equivalent.
  • Start the engine and warm it up completely.
  • Is same DTC present?
Yes Replace the TCM, then go to the next step.

No Go to the next step.
14 VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE 
Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE .)
No Troubleshooting completed.
