Connect the positive lead of a dwell meter to PCM connector terminal No. 81 and the negative terminal to a ground. Set the dwell meter selector to the 4 cylinder position. Apply parking brake and use wheel chocks at front and rear wheels. Start the engine. Depress the brake pedal firmly. Move gearshift lever to "D" range. Depress the accelerator pedal slowly and verify that the duty ratio changes. If duty ratio does not change, inspect PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE  under PIN VOLTAGE TESTS. If no problems are found, perform ON VEHICLE TEST .
