Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Following scan tool manufacturer's instructions, retrieve any PCM related Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Service any stored DTCs before proceeding. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no PCM related DTCs exist, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING INDEX .
