Removal and Installation

Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT .

Open the rear door scuff plate cover.

Remove the rear door scuff plate.
1. Remove the two pin-type retainers.
2. Remove the scuff plate.
If equipped, remove the retractable cargo cover.

Remove the pin-type retainers and the liftgate (scuff plate) trim panel.
Position the liftgate weatherstrip aside.

Remove the rear quarter trim panel.
1. If equipped, remove the cargo net hold-down.
2. Disconnect the rear power point electrical connector.

Remove the fuel filler door latch nut.

Remove the fuel filler door latch.
1. Release the cable conduit.
2. Disconnect the cable.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
