- Closed throttle position switch is part of Throttle Position (TP) sensor. To test closed throttle position switch, verify throttle is a closed throttle position. Disconnect TP sensor connector. Check with an ohmmeter. If no continuity is present, adjust TP sensor. See THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article.
- Insert a 0.015 INCH feeler gauge between Throttle Adjusting Screw (TAS) and throttle lever. Check TP sensor for continuity between terminals "C" and "D". If continuity is present, adjust TP sensor. See THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. Check TP sensor adjustment before replacing TP sensor.
